The Board and Management of the Audit Service have inaugurated a five-unit permanent office block for the Agona-Ashanti District Audit office in the Ashanti Region to enhance its operations in promoting good governance and accountability.
The plush office, started in 2010 by Micardo Construction Company Limited, is fitted with workstations, blinds curtains, air conditioners, store room and cloakrooms. The Agona-Ashanti District office was set up around 1974. Since it’s inception, the Agona Royal Okomfo Anokye Stool has provided the Service with office accommodation for the past 47 years without charging any rent.
At a colourful opening graced by Nana Adu Asenso II, Ankobeah hene of Agona Traditional Council and other dignitaries, Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu, Auditor General, expressed immense gratitude to the royal stool for their immense support to the Audit Service.
He called staff to demonstrate positive attitude towards work and uphold professional standards in the discharge of their duties.
Professor Edward Dua-Agyeman, Chairman of the Audit Service Board, charged workers to work hard to justify the investment made. He urged staff to acquire higher qualifications as professionals for efficient service delivery.
Nana Asenso II, in his remarks congratulated the Board and Management of the Service for the feet chalked. He assured the Service of his continuous support.
Mr. Tony Kwenin, the Coordinating Director, Agona-Ashanti said the District Assembly would continue to the Service in diverse ways
Ms. Cordelia Mensah, the District Auditor of the Agona-Ashanti, in her speech expressed gratitude to Board and Management of the Service for the edifice.
